Kevin is Welsh Irish by extraction and Seri is from Malaysia.
We are both graduates in Professional Librarianship, Kevin has a B.Sc.Econ with Honours, and Seri is a clever woman with an M.Sc.Econ. both of our degrees were gained in the University of Wales at Aberystwyth, which is where we met.
We have been married since august of 1997, and our wedding night was sadly interrupted by the death of Diana Princess of Wales, not really the way you want to remember your wedding, but ces’t la Vie.
We are both Muslims, and had two ceremonies for our marriage, one on 30th August 1997, as above, and the other in our local Mosque on 23rd August. We celebrate the 23rd in order to avoid the usual annual news that Diana is sadly still dead.
Marriage has its rewards, someone to shout when you need it, someone to hold your hand when you are unwell, or feeling low, someone to help and to obtain help from when the world seems to be against you, and mostly someone to love and to be loved by.
Life has been a little difficult for us throughout our marriage, Seri was an intensive care patient for a couple of weeks and spent months in Hospital at the beginning of our marriage, and two weeks after she started back at work I had a car accident which has caused me to be off work for the past 7 years and counting. But hey, we’re still alive, still together and still fighting on, so something is going right.
